Our location, at the altitude of the Sonoran Desert, just 15 miles south of Tucson, Arizona, provides an ideal environment for growing pecan nuts.

A family-run business since 1948, the Green Valley Pecan Company has 5,000 hectares of orchards and a modern on-site processing and storage facility. This means that we are able to control all aspects of pecan production, from orchards to packaging, ensuring a high quality end product.

Our business aims to provide you with the cut and quality of nuts you and your customers expect.

The Green Valley Pecan Company is located in Sahuarita, Arizona, on what was once the Continental Ranch. The ranch belonged to the International Rubber Company, which in the early 1900s cultivated guayules for rubber. In 1926, Ivy, Dale and Owens rented the land and transferred the rubber harvest to cotton. Then, in 1948, R. Keith Walden purchased the Continental Ranch and established the Farmer's Investment Company (FICO). As he continued to grow cotton, Walden began experimenting with different crops and eventually turned to pecans as they were perfectly suited to the environment of the high Sonoran desert. After testing dozens of varieties, he chose Western Schley and Wichita pecans for their sweet taste, rich color and abundant yield. It took five years, from 1965 to 1969, to plant nearly 400,000 pecan trees on 5,000 acres of farmland. The first trees started producing pecans in 1970.
